Responsible for the operation of electric induction furnaces which includes melting, pouring of metal, and installing new crucibles in melt unit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
-Weighting specified amounts of metal and charging metal into the furnace
-Making sure that all adds put into the furnace are weighted and available for use.
-Regulate flow of water and electricity to control furnace temperature.
-Reading and recording melt operations.
-Pouring into ladle sometimes using a hoist
-Be able to identify casting flaws such as miss-run, hot tears, scaling, etc and determine procedures required to correct the defect.
-Keeping metals separated into various categories and determine correctness of alloys.
-Directs melt crew during pouring.
-Responsible for the melt crew safety.
-Knock out old crucible & put in new crucible
-Make sure ladle is ready for next heat
-Handles daily routine maintenance on equipment.
-Be knowledgeable of all process in the Melt Department and able to perform necessary work/action in each area (Autoclave Operator, Kiln Operator, Ladle Personnel).
-Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
-Must be able to communicate, read, and write effectively in a business environment.
-Must have a valid Driver's License.
-Must have strong leadership and people skills.
-Must have strong organizational skills.
To be considered, candidates must have previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility.
