  • Regularly required to stand and walk for approximately 10 hours/day. The employee is occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch. 
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 55 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.Job DescriptionSummary/Objective:The weld associate position is responsible for fitting and welding of steel, aluminum and stainless steel parts using a MIG and TIG process. The position communicates with co-workers, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.Essential Functions:
  • Read job specifications such as blueprints, calipers, and measurements to determine layout and procedures with supervision 
  • Determine the appropriate equipment and methods based on requirements
  • Set up, adjust and operate equipment to fabricate parts to specifications
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Ensure work is done safely, consistently and meets quality standards
  • Monitor work equipment to ensure usage is within optimum temperature to avoid overheating or expansion
  • Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions to weld structural metal to specifications
  • Inspect weld surfaces and structure to ensure accuracy and discover flaws
  • Tacks assemblies together
  • Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes
  • Identify, tag and remove non-conforming materials
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Communicate with other departments as necessary
  • Keep work areas clean and organized 
  • Adhere to all company rules and policies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor
