Job Description

WIRE MACHINE OPERATORPlainville, GA
TEMP TO PERM POSITIONPay: $17.21-17.26/hourlyShift: 2nd (2: 00p-10: 00p) Monday through Friday and 3rd (10: 00p-6: 00a) Sunday through Thursday. 
Responsibilities:
  • Change spools on finish end of Drawing machine.
  • Cut wire samples, enter production data, print tags, and place them on completed spools of wire to ensure proper traceability of the finished wire. 
  • Communicate with team members to ensure accurate reporting of rod consumption and inputting proper data in the company' s production reporting system. 
  • Test finished wire for diameter, torsions, cast helix, tensile, and any other physical data that may be required in the future. 
  • Record test results in the company' s database and on process control charts as directed. 
  • Make adjustments to the manufacturing process as needed in response to test data, SPC charts, visual observations of the process, etc. For example, resetting of cast, changing dyes, adding or changing drawing lubricants. 
  • Troubleshoot process interruptions and process excursions according to established procedures. 
  • Repair wire breaks, (critical to tag and save samples). 
  • Assembly of dye holders.
  • Assist in maintenance problems as needed. 
  • Product changeovers as required.
  • Housekeeping duties as assigned. 
  • Production information documentation and communication to other team members (log books, daily production reports, maintenance requests). 
  • Participate in Team activities such as safety audits, training classes, and continuous improvement projects. 
  • Make welds.
  • Fix rod tangles.
  • Observe, monitor, operate and troubleshoot belt sanding units. The sanding machines are the most sensitive equipment (individual component) of the wiredrawing line. They require consistent attention and monitoring during each shift of the day. The care and upkeep of the units will require a team effort with the Rodman being the champion of each shift. 
  • Monitor, add chemicals, and document operating conditions of the rinse tanks, borax tanks, and dryer per documented procedures. 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • 6 months of working in a warehouse environment 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Machine operating 
  • Mechanical knowledge 
  • Troubleshooting
