Traveling/ Field Service - CAM & CNC Programmer/Machine Setup Professional - DIRECT HIRE - U.S.A/Canada
- Hourly: $35-$50 / 90K-150K +

This role will require 100% travel at customer sites throughout the USA, Canada, (and occasionally Mexico) - for qualification and runoff of new machines, and development and tryout of new cutting sequences, production support and customer training
Hard Skills
- CAD/CAM experience with regards to programming multi-axes multi-function machine tools as well as a firm understanding of Macro and manual programming.
- Solid understanding of the function and intricacies of CNC machines, work holding principles and tool setup
- Strong background in applied metal cutting by means of turning, milling, drilling, etc.
- Experience with Sinumerik 840D control system
- Program and troubleshoot complex millturn parts from various industries using state of the art CNC technology.
- Discuss machining process related topics with customer and applications department.
- Conduct cycle time calculations and process sequence charts.
- Majority of candidates work time will be spent on assignment at customer sites across the U.S. with some time in Canada
- Assignments at customer sites consist of: qualification and runoff of new machines; programming, development and tryout of new cutting sequences; production support; training of customer personnel on programming and operation of Mill-turn machines
Soft Skills
- Must have excellent planning skills and be able to manage time efficiently
- Must be able to request and present information through spoken or written word and to communicate effectively with external and internal customers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel)
- Work experience on mill turn-type multi-function CNC metal cutting machines preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in conditions of a typical industrial plant environment, which could be hot, cold, noisy and dusty
- Ability to travel extensively within the Continental U.S., Canada and occasionally Mexico.
- Work weekends and holidays as necessary, with some extended hours required due to customer requirements
- Ability to handle schedule changes when required to comply with customer’s requirements.
Experience and Abilities
- Existing knowledge and ability to set up and operate multi-axis’s multi-function millturn-type machine tools
- Ability to read and evaluate complex 2-D part drawings and 3-D models.
- Experience with 840D control system
- Experience in CAD/CAM and CNC Simulation preferred.
- Firm understanding of G&M code.
- Experienced with Siemens Controllers
- Customer-directed and service oriented
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to think logically and critically.
Educational Requirements
- Three-year technical degree or five year work experience in process development and programming of multi-axes multi-function CNC metal cutting machines
