We are currently seeking a skilled Tool Room Machinist capable of building fixtures, providing support to the manufacturing floor, and performing prototype machining tasks using both CNC and manual equipment. Proficiency in programming with Mastercam is preferred. Our client is flexible with wage points and prioritizes finding the right candidate who aligns with their company culture.
Responsibilities:
Fabricate fixtures and tooling necessary for production processes, ensuring precision and functionality.
Assist the manufacturing floor by troubleshooting equipment issues and providing machining support as needed.
Operate CNC and manual machining equipment to produce prototypes and components according to specifications.
Program CNC machines using Mastercam software to create efficient machining programs.
Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize fixture designs and machining processes for improved efficiency and quality.
Maintain the tool room and equipment to ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper functionality.
Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in tooling and machining operations.
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in tool room machining, fixture building, and prototype development
Proficiency in operating both CNC and manual machining equipment, including milling machines, lathes, and grinders
Familiarity with programming CNC machines, preferably using Mastercam or similar software
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in machining tasks to meet quality standards
Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude to address challenges effectively
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on advancements in machining technology and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal training or certification in machining, toolmaking, or a related field.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a tool room or machining shop.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software for design and programming purposes.
Experience with tool and die making processes and techniques.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic production environment.
