Location:Clinton, TN Job Purpose:To drive new development within the organization to meet customer needs and gross profit targets in a manner consistent with the Mission Principles and Values.Key Responsibilities:Safety Management
Enforces all company safety procedures and administers disciplinary actions when required.
Provides safety training and orientation to new employees. Ensures timely completion of all assigned safety training.
Identifies and cultivates opportunities to improve working area conditions and works with maintenance and engineering on the implementation of new ideas.
Reports, investigates, and documents all safety related incidents and leads team in the investigation of root causes and development of corrective actions.
Staff planning and development:
Develops job descriptions, long-term objectives, and annual goals for direct reports in-line with company objectives and goals.
Develops and maintains training programs.
Ensure effective performance management for direct reports. Completes all managerial tasks by assigned due date.
Provides input to senior management on long-term objectives and goals.
Technical resource for staff and other groups.
Designs and develops training plans for self and employees to ensure steady progression in tech service levels.
Product Development
Proficient in products and customer processes
Meets with direct reports at regular frequency for technical guidance on work orders and complaint complaints. Identifies and clears roadblocks to completion.
100% notification of late work orders to the work requestor prior to work order being late[NP1]
Backup for direct reports on customer needs
Generates costings upon request and with new developments and sends to internal requestors
Monitors customer complaints assigned to themselves and direct reports and participates in root-cause analysis exercises to come to root-cause and implements corrective actions
Assists Director of Technology and Sustainability on tasks as needed
Ensures consistency and quality standards for work performed through tech service
Technical service
Operates at a minimum level II technical service for assigned sales and customers
Leads and participates in customer technical discussions
Manages projects and timelines to meet customer expectations and documents project updates in project management software
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in Excel and Word
Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to write and proof technical reports.
At least 3 years’ experience in product development[NP2]
At least 3 years’ experience in project management
At least 3 years’ experience in personnel management
Ability to learn and incorporate new knowledge in technical development
Some knowledge of plastic testing analytical test methods[NP3][KS4]
Ability to learn and follow instructions
Ability to interpret analytical data
Ability to work independently
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or engineering or five or more years of experience in product development.1
