Shipping and Receiving Technician ( 10-12 Weeks Temporary role)
Location: Midland, MI
Department: Production and Logistics
Status: Temporary: 10-12 Weeks assignment
Pay Rate: $20 to $24 per hour
Qualified Professional and Technical has been engaged by our client to support their search for a Parts and Shipping Technician. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity to join a respected manufacturing organization known for its precision, teamwork, and commitment to quality. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on shipping and receiving experience and a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment. About the RoleThe Parts and Shipping Technician plays a key role in maintaining smooth warehouse and logistics operations. This position is responsible for preparing and verifying outgoing shipments, inspecting incoming materials, maintaining accurate inventory, and supporting production through efficient parts handling and organization. You will collaborate with teams in Production, Quality, and Testing to ensure materials are available on time and products are shipped accurately. Success in this role requires accuracy, communication, and the ability to stay organized under pressure. Key Responsibilities
Package finished goods securely to prevent damage during transit
Label outgoing shipments accurately with shipping details and documentation
Prepare and stage orders for carrier pickup via UPS, FedEx, or freight services
Verify that shipments match customer orders and quality standards
Maintain and monitor packaging supply levels
Receive and inspect incoming materials, verifying contents against purchase orders
Report any damaged or missing items and coordinate resolution
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping and receiving area
Perform inventory tasks, including cycle counts and audits
Pick and stage parts and instrument orders using the internal system
Update shortage lists and communicate effectively with Production and Purchasing teams
Follow company safety procedures and all regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED required
Experience: Minimum of two years in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Skills and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform other physical duties related to warehouse work
Additional Information
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week (overtime may be required based on business needs)
Travel: None required
Work Environment: Clean, organized, and safety-focused warehouse and production setting
