-Our client is currently seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst (Accounting Policy) on a Direct Hire basis for their Waynesboro, VA or Edinburg, VA location. Excellent benefits. Relocation possible!

-The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical accounting expertise and prepare the Company’s filings with the SEC. This position will research, interpret and apply authoritative accounting guidance to unique situations, play a role in the adoption of new, relevant guidance, and communicate complex topics clearly to a diverse internal audience across the Company

-Prepare financial statements and footnotes, as well as related supporting documentation, for quarterly and annual SEC filings on Forms 10-K and 10-Q

-Assist with the implementation of the new accounting standards, particularly Lease Accounting

-Coordinate the preparation of the Annual Report with business partners across the organization

-Assist with the preparation of the Company’s earnings releases

-Perform ad-HOC accounting research and document conclusions

-Participate in special projects, improve processes and assist with updating documentation for the department’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

-Review XBRL files that accompany 10-Q and 10-K filings

-B.S. degree or above in Accounting at a nationally accredited institution

-2-5+ year experience

-Experience with a large Public Accounting firm or with a publicly traded company

-CPA preferred

-Strong communication skills

-Strong track record of building relationships and establishing effective processes to address complex issues

-Good time management skills

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and successfully multi-task

-Ability to work with minimal supervision

-Experience with XBRL preferred, but not required

-Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
