Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Brighton, MichiganHours: 8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday – Friday- On Site Position
Compensation: $60,000–$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and full benefit package

Our client in Brighton, MI, is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a critical role in financial reporting, analysis, and operational support within a manufacturing-focused organization. This position offers strong compensation, comprehensive benefits, and long-term growth potential for someone eager to make an impact and partner closely with leadership.The Senior Accountant will be responsible for month-end close activities, financial reporting, cost and inventory accounting, audit support, and compliance-related functions. Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead month-end close processes, including cash flow reporting and reconciliations
  2. Manage inventory control, including work orders and inventory adjustments
  3. Oversee daily purchasing and sales reporting for management review
  4. Prepare and review intercompany invoices
  5. Generate and analyze internal financial reports
  6. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and necessary adjustments
  7. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  8. Review account balances and perform detailed account reconciliations
  9. Evaluate accounts receivable and payable; manage collections and expenses
  10. Maintain accurate and timely financial records, including invoice posting
  11. Prepare sales and purchasing analyses for business operations and insurance renewals
  12. Provide audit support by preparing and reviewing required documentation
  13. Perform timely sales and use tax filings
  14. Prepare quarterly and annual sales schedules and tax-related reports
  15. Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
  16. Support electronic filing of manufacturing, R&D, and business surveys
  17. Review inventory records and assess required adjustments
  18. Lead manufacturing and cost accounting activities
  19. Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Qualifications & Experience
  1. Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred)
  2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  3. Manufacturing and inventory management experience required
  4. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; strong overall technical aptitude
  5. Hands-on experience with Sage 100 or higher ERP systems
  6. Solid understanding of procurement, plant operations, GMP, BRC, and HACCP standards
  7. Experience with audit preparation, compliance, and regulatory reporting
  8. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  9. Detail-oriented, goal-driven, and capable of working with limited supervision
  10. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present financial information
  11. High level of integrity, professionalism, and credibility
  12. Demonstrated interest in working within an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented culture
  13. Authorized to work in the United States
  14. CPA license preferred but not required
