Ammonia/Refrigeration Technician - $35+

  1. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on Utility Equipment to increase overall effectiveness.
  2. Prepares documentation (e.g. records of refrigerants, paperwork, logs, time and materials, specifications, etc.) for providing written support in compliance with regulations and/or conveying information
  3. Complete required documentation and logs regarding equipment operation, run hours, temperatures and pressures associated with Boilers and Compressors (Ammonia and Air).
  4. Service, repair and rebuild valves and pumps.
  5. Monitor and document condition room temperatures.
  6. Operate and monitor the Hot Water Heater making pressure adjustments as necessary.
  7. Monitor department emails and notify those on shift of active alarms or faults.
  8. Comply with all current and future Safety, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Policies and procedures.
  9. Comply with all PSM/RMP regulations
  10. Participate and maintain Process Safety Management Program.
  11. Ability to coordinate work with outside contractors
  12. Assist in performing major and minor repairs on Utility Equipment (Boilers, Ammonia Refrigeration, HVAC, Air Compressors, Fire Retention Systems and Cooling Towers).
  13. Actively participate on the PSM/Safety Pillar Workstream
  14. Other duties as required

  1. Punctual, excellent attendance record and ability to work with others.
  2. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  3. Appropriate training and certifications relevant to duties
  4. Ability to service utility equipment as recommended by manufactures.
  5. Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
  6. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  7. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  8. Ability to work comfortably on extension ladders and aerial boom lifts.
  9. High mobility, performing maintenance on utility equipment throughout the facility, walking up ladders and stairs daily.

  1. High School Education or equivalent
  2. Good computer skills, Excel, Word.
  3. Must be able to perform all job functions safely.

  1. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  2. Highly mobile, lots of walking both on flat surfaces and up/down stairs.
  3. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  4. Must be able to perform work on ladders, boom lifts/forklift/scissor lift.
  5. Must be able to pass respirator testing annually for PSM.
