Job Description
Quality Inspector
Are you looking for a career in the manufacturing industry? Look no further! Our client in Novi, MI is seeking full-time Quality Inspectors to add to their team. Our client produces test switches, enclosures, adapters and utility test equipment through Meter Devices and Ekstrom Industries brands. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for performing inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures of parts and components in a production environment. On-site training provided!
Pay:$18/hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate mechanical, electrical, weld and visual inspection of components, sub-assemblies and finished goods per engineering drawings, specification requirements and work instructions.
- Maintain quality standards by performing incoming, first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Visually inspect all parts and components have been manufactured correctly to ensure they are meeting safety and quality specifications.
- Initiate and follow-up on Non-Conformance as required.
- Assist with material movement as related to non-conforming product.
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment on multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining physical activity.
- Perform quality audits as necessary.
- Communicate with production personal, supervisors and managers to resolve quality issues.
- Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
- Evaluate and report on returned goods.
- Assist with supplier approvals (PPAP) as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read engineering drawings, bill of materials and other documents.
- Basic math skills required.
- Familiar with process tools such as calipers, pin gages, thread gages, continuity tester, torque wrench, hardness tester and more.
- Ability to pay close attention to details with driven approach.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong perception in all areas of quality assurance.
- Reliable and committed. Must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required.
- Promote good employee relations and high morale.
- Follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Education, Training and Experience Requirements:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with welding a plus.
- Must have good English written and verbal communication skills.
- Three years Quality Control experience is required.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and good documentation practices.
- Basic knowledge in Excel, MS Office and Outlook.
- 2-year degree preferred.
