Quality Assurance Technician

Protein & Steady State Operations

Blair, NE

Shift work – 2/2/3 swings every 4 weeks

$20.00/hour

Job Responsibilities: 
  1. This position involves their SLP Fermentation and SLP Recovery. This will include:
    1. SLP Fermentation -

Micro -Mini Seed, 42-hour fermentation before transfer

Micro - Seed, 12-hour fermentation before transfer

Micro – Aftercool, sample goes through heat, sterilize, cool process to kill unwanted micro

Micro – Med Fermentation samples in main Fermentation

Harvest Samples – OPRP, Tited and Category 1 samples
  1. SLP Recovery-

Pre-HTST GR samples, QC tank

Pre-HTST GR samples, Finished goods tank

Heavy Metals samples
  1. SAP Functions: EXTRA_TESTS_OK_RQ_LOC_PROD_WO_LABEL
  2. Hygiene sampling
  3. PEM – Pathogen Environmental Monitoring
  4. Temperature verification after tapping, Review FS work orders to ensure prioritization.
  5. Communicate with pest control operators spot checking production documentation and support as needed
  6. GMP walkdowns/inspections/process confirmations
  7. Support Contractor check in/check out
  8. Batch record reviews
  9. CCP & Food/Feed Defense Checks
  10. Capture and document CARs for FS events
  11. Follow-up and support closures as needed
  12. Glass breakage, sickness blood in production, pest sighting
  13. Maintain list of approved chemicals. Bring request to FST
  14. Support as a resource for Food Defense, MOCs, food/feed impact risk assessments, and Supplier Corrective Action Reports

Requirements:
  1. Experience in Quality Assurance, prefers a bachelor’s degree in a related Science
  2. Must be able to do shift work (2/2/3 swinging every 4 weeks)
  3. Able to lift 50 lbs.
  4. Must be able to work from heights or confined spaces
  5. Standing for 12 hours at a time
  6. Must be able to wear a respirator, no beards (mustaches are acceptable)
  7. Must be able to pass a drug test and a pre-employment physical
