The Purchasing Coordinator will place purchase orders, requests for quotes (RFQs), perform data analysis and other activities associated with overseeing the sourcing of new products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process purchase orders and ensure that supplier is meeting delivery dates.
- Lead, manage and execute data collection, validation, analysis, and negotiation activities for the assigned commodities.
Minimum Qualifications to be considered:
- College Degree in business or related not necessary but is preferred.
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience with data analytics.
- Able to work independently with a proactive, ownership mindset.
- Professional and possesses integrity.
- Ability to collect and analyze data.
Education and Experience (preferred):
- Relevant internship or co-op experience.
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Experience with cost analysis.
- Experience in negotiating and assessing suppliers.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (preferred):
- Understanding of automotive industry quality standards.
- Coordination, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Technical capability and manufacturing knowledge.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft.
- Familiarity purchasing raw materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.)
