Job Description
Summary:Our client is a leading plastics extrusion company that utilizes the latest materials and techniques to develop custom solutions to their clients in various industries. They are looking to add a Shift Supervisor to their team. In this role this person would be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of their molding operations Responsibilities:
Ensure all production activities are conducted efficiently and safely.
Monitor workers and production processes to ensure productivity targets are met.
Lead and supervise a team of operators, technicians, and assistants.
Schedule and assign shifts, roles, and responsibilities among team members.
Implement and maintain quality assurance procedures to ensure product specifications.
Conduct inspections and audits of the production process and finished products.
Address any safety concerns or incidents promptly and report them as required.
Oversee routine maintenance and troubleshooting on injection molding machines
Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs and parts procurement.
Maintain accurate records of production output, efficiency, and downtime.
Prepare reports on shift performance metrics and present them to management.
Identify trends in production data to optimize processes and reduce costs.
Address production issues proactively and implement corrective actions.
Act as a liaison between management and production staff.
Report on team performance, production issues, and areas for improvement.
Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and components.
Coordinate with supply chain and inventory management teams for procurement.
Qualifications:
Three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience in an injection molding plant environment.
Thorough understanding of injection molding, from raw material to finished goods.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and experience with IQMS is a plus.
History of providing effective performance feedback and addressing employee needs and disciplinary actions.
