Summary:
Our client is a food services company that specializes in high quality dairy products. They are currently looking for a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to join their team. In this role this person would be responsible for coordinating daily production activities, playing a key role in optimizing production processes, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise and direct production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.
• Ensure that processing equipment setups are completed in the timeframe required to meet department expectations and productivity.
• Maintain product quality standards by monitoring processes, conducting quality checks, and ensuring adherence to quality control procedures.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and packaging supplies to ensure adequate supply for production needs.
• Maintain accurate production records, including batch reports, quality control data, and equipment maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff to schedule and coordinate equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including food safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Provide daily updates to department managers.
• Promptly investigate customer complaints, determine root cause, implement corrective action and provide follow-up.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Bachelor's degree in food science, or related field or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Five (5) years of experience in food production, manufacturing, industrial process operations or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control principles.
