The primary purpose of Production Operators is to operate all extrusion and downstream equipment and run all production jobs. In addition, as a Production Operator is responsible for effectively producing high quality products.
Key Responsibilities
Perform basic set-up and tear down of extruders and downstream equipment with minimal supervision.
Mix material for each production job.
Complete maintenance of die, sleeve, and afterform (includes cleaning, polishing, rust-proofing, and warehousing).
Adjust machinery as needed (take-off speed, screw speed, temperature, air pressure, etc.).
Change tubing and profile dies.
Make Teflon insulation discs for dies and seals for vacuum sizing tanks.
Skills/Qualifications
High school diploma
Prefer 1-3 years of hands-on thermoplastic extrusion experience
Understand basic running and drying temperatures
Basic math skills, including general understanding of fractions and decimals
Hi-Lo license
Basic blueprint reading
