Production Control and Materials Coordinator (Contract)
Location: Pontiac, MI
Shift: Day Shift 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Pay: $23 to $27 per hour
Overtime: Limited
Duration: 6 month contract, potential to extend
Position SummaryThe Production Control and Materials Coordinator is responsible for both physical and system based movement of materials and hardware within an assigned manufacturing cell. This role ensures proper storage, accurate tracking, kit creation, and timely distribution of materials to support production operations. Top Priorities
Tracking hardware status
Moving parts between operations
Releasing and closing job orders
Key Responsibilities
Utilize ERP systems such as SAP to locate and issue components to production orders
Receive and close production orders, including packaging and delivering to next destination
Process material transactions including stock transfers, order releases, and inventory adjustments
Create shipping documentation and coordinate delivery to shipping for outside processing
Distribute materials to production and assembly areas ensuring correct parts and quantities
Build production kits with required parts and instructions for next level assemblies
Organize and store incoming materials, including creating proper storage locations
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as needed
Maintain accountability for product safety and quality in alignment with company standards
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
1 to 2 years of experience in manufacturing, inventory, or material control environments
Experience with ERP systems required, SAP preferred but not required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize work in a fast paced environment
Physical Requirements
Lift up to 50 lbs from 4 inches to 25 inches
Push or pull up to 60 lbs
Grip strength of at least 50 lbs
Ability to reach above shoulder height up to 65 inches
Additional Requirements
US Citizenship required
Must be eligible to obtain a US Government Security Clearance if needed
