Job Description
Production Operator Location: Brighton Pay: $16.50 - $17.50 Shift: 1st and 2nd Are you detail-oriented and capable of operating various metalworking machines? Our client is looking for a dedicated Production Operator to support manufacturing processes by operating equipment such as press machines, grinders, and hand tools. This role is vital for maintaining product quality and efficient production flow in a fast-paced environment. Duties:
Metal Working Machine Operation: Operate trim press, punch press, form press, bend-brake, riveter, mold press, and standalone grinders to produce parts according to specifications
Hand Tool Usage: Drill, grind, cut, assemble, and process products as needed
Quality Checks: Regularly inspect parts for consistency using sample pieces to ensure standards are met
Safety and Housekeeping: Operate all machinery and tools safely, using safety features; maintain clean work areas following good housekeeping practices
Production Reporting: Accurately document daily production and promptly report any quality, safety, or production issues to the area leader
Support and Training: Participate in job-related training programs and assist with other tasks throughout the facility as assigned
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain efficient use of work time and resources
Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times
Respond to and resolve practical problems using given instructions and procedures
Maintain flexibility and adaptability in a changing work environment
Qualifications:
Prior machine operation experience preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is a plus
Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions
Basic math skills including measuring with a tape measure
Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
Ability to read blueprints a plus
Physically capable of standing for extended periods, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly
Comfortable working in high-noise environments and variable temperatures
Work Environment:
Manufacturing setting with loud noise levels requiring hearing protection
Variable temperatures based on outside conditions
Shop floor environment with potential exposure to heavy machinery and frequent physical activity
