Press Assistant (Day Shift)
Are you looking to get into the manufacturing industry? Look no further; we have the right job for you! This is a temp-to-hire position after 90 days (with benefits!) Our client, a global leader in sustainable flexible packaging, is seeking a full-time Press Assistant. The Press Assistant helps the Press Operator in the daily operation of flexographic printing presses to meet customer needs. Contributes to overall quality, productivity, and waste reduction for each printed job.
This position operates on a 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule, from 6am to 6pm.
Essential Duties
-Maintain all supplies at the machine, including film cores, ink, and solvents.
-Turbo wash, change printing sleeves, anilox sleeves, and cylinders, and loading raw material onto the press unwind.
-Keep the press and surrounding area clean.
-Learn the operation and maintenance of the press.
-Ensure compliance with BRC requirements and the Product Safety and Quality Management System (PSQMS). Adhere to GMP requirements and report any potential food safety hazards as per procedure.
-Set up and run jobs on the press, including setting plate impressions, registering plates, color toning, operating the spectrometer, achieving proper print position, and understanding all information on the spec sheet.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education and experience:
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Good mechanical ability.
• Excellent discernment between color codes
• Must have potential to progress to Press Operator II and eventually to Press Operator I.
• May have customer contact or access to confidential information.
