Hands on - Wire Harness Manufacturing Operations Manager Location: Morgan Hill CA Salary: $100 - $ 130K Job Type: Direct HireSchedule: Monday through Friday | Day Shift About the Company Our client is a leading contract manufacturer specializing in wire harness and cable assembly solutions They are focused on operational excellence high quality products and building a performance driven culture This organization is seeking a hands on Operations Leader to develop talent drive accountability and implement Lean practices to achieve strong operational results Position Summary The Operations Manager is a hands on player coach responsible for leading all aspects of wire harness and cable assembly operations while staying actively engaged on the production floor This role focuses on developing leaders driving accountability and improving performance across Safety Quality Delivery and Cost This leader will use Pareto prioritization Gemba based problem solving and Lean methodologies to drive continuous improvement while coaching Production Supervisors and Team Leads to build a culture of ownership and execution Key Responsibilities
Lead daily manufacturing operations with a results through people approach by setting clear expectations roles and accountability Coach and develop Production Supervisors Team Leads and associates to drive team performance
Ensure safety quality and compliance across the production floor including adherence to IPC WHMA A 620 standards and customer requirements
Own production scheduling execution by translating schedules into daily plans balancing labor and removing bottlenecks
Drive on time delivery and throughput while minimizing downtime and inefficiencies
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools including Kaizen 5S Value Stream Mapping 5 Why and PDCA
Conduct Gemba walks and use Pareto analysis and KPIs to identify issues and implement corrective actions
Optimize staffing and labor planning through cross training and performance management
Facilitate daily production meetings to align priorities and drive problem solving
Collaborate with Quality Engineering Supply Chain and Maintenance to resolve issues and improve overall performance
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Manufacturing Industrial Engineering Operations Management or related field preferred
8 plus years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
3 plus years in a senior leadership or plant level role
Experience in wire harness cable assembly or similar high mix low volume manufacturing environments preferred
Strong leadership experience developing teams and driving cultural change
Experience with Lean manufacturing tools including Kaizen 5S Value Stream Mapping 5 Why and PDCA
Demonstrated ability to use data for decision making including Pareto analysis KPI tracking and root cause analysis
Strong Excel skills for reporting and data analysis
Experience with ERP or MRP systems
Fluent in English Bilingual Spanish or Vietnamese is a plus
