Oil and Gas Product Development/ Mechanical Design Engineer
  • DIRECT HIRE
  • Salary-80-90K plus bonus eligible 

REQUIREMENTS
  • At least five years of relevant history working in the Oil and Energy Industry
  • Mechanical engineering degree required
  • Significant amount of design in CAD-Solidworks experience required
  • Tool Design and product Optimization experience
  • Experience adhering to project timelines

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Evaluate and execute assigned projects using sound engineering and technical principles while adhering to good business practices and company procedures, as well as, product and program requirements.
  • Execute and complete all aspects pertaining to assigned project including project timelines, upper level assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, bill of materials, field/maintenance manuals, shop maintenance documentation, domestic and international deployment kits, testing plans and reports, training, design reviews, and design review packages.
  • Ensure that all statutory safety and environmental issues are adhered to along with the Company’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct job planning simulations.
  • Conduct failure analysis investigations to identify root cause of reported failures, following standard First Alert Protocol and Procedures.
  • Prepare internal failure analysis reports, providing clear concise description of investigation, analysis, and proposed corrective actions.
  • Present improvements and/or design changes to existing product line in the form of an Engineering Project Proposal.
  • Provide technical support to operations, field service, and other engineering personnel as requested.
  • Maintain thorough records of all work completed (engineering notebook).
  • Manage the EPDM system and document contents.
  • Maintain all certifications for traveling to land, offshore, and international rig locations.
  • Travel to land, offshore, and international rig locations, and company or customer facilities to supervise and support the testing of prototype products.
  • Participate in the daily care of the facility, including office, shop, and workspace cleanliness.
  • Participate and assist in attaining an ISO approved Quality Assurance Program.
  • Participate in the training of personnel, recommend training requirements to management team; monitor the effectiveness of training given; stay suitably informed and trained in all areas that the position requires.
