The Food Services Assistant will provide quality service. The Food Services Assistant will provide the Food Services Manager all that is needed in the areas of preparation, cooking, serving, and cleaning.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Daily or weekly functions related to the Children’s Learning Center that need to be performed, such as:
- Assisting the Children’s Learning Center with daily preparations and serving, including, but not limited to: Morning and afternoon snacks; preparing daily lunches, including setting up tables for lunch and table clean-up afterward (cleaning of tables, trash, and moving tables so custodial can clean floor, etc); special event activities for the Children’s Learning Center
- The Food Services Assistant will become knowledgeable of guidelines related to types of food that will be served and portion control for such serving. Monthly menus are provided for snacks and lunches by the Children’s Learning Center Codirectors.
• Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals planned
• Put away all stock (products) that are ordered. Keep the food pantry and refrigerators clean and organized.
• General cleaning to maintain a clean and safe kitchen
• Knowledge of the dish room and ability to wash dishes in commercial dishwasher and put up said dishes
• Daily sweeping of entire kitchen area; mop as directed
• Daily or weekly clean all kitchen equipment as directed
• Keep back door area of kitchen clean, including paper, plastic, and aluminum recycling
