NVH Engineer- Direct Hire- Plymouth

The NVH Engineer – working with the Product Design and Development Engineers, the NVH Engineer is responsible for the development of local NVH materials, parts and processes for a given commodity which meets or exceeds customer and internal specifications and requirements.

Essential Functions:
  • Analyze customer product NVH specifications and develop appropriate concepts and designs.
  • Evaluate the NVH vehicle level characteristics and make recommendations to improve the performance.
  • Working with suppliers, develop new materials and production processes which meet internal and external NVH specifications and performance requirements.
  • Organize and manage the NVH materials and supplier data base
  • Propose and present to internal management and the external customer NVH packages that meet or exceed the customer’s specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews both internally and with the customer to ensure NVH performance criteria are maintained.
  • Review and manage cost strategy of materials and parts.
  • Cooperate with parent company’s Development and Experiment Department.
  • Availability to travel up to 25%, with some international travel.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering
  • 5 years or more of proven experience in Vehicle NVH development, automotive interior parts experience preferred.
  • Must be highly motivated and interested in hands-on NVH development of vehicles.
  • Willing to learn on the job.
  • Hands-on automotive NVH experience.
  • Experience with NOVA CAE simulation software is preferred.
  • Must have strong vehicle evaluation, driving, and assessment skills.
  • Able to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Result oriented with strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to make technical presentation in front of the customer as needed.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • English required; (Japanese language skills a plus).
