 Job Title: Mechanical AssemblerLocation: Richmond, VA, 23231Compensation: $21-22, Based on experienceSchedule: Monday – Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm Position Summary:  Working under moderate to direct supervision, the Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling components based on their understanding of the product or by following technical manuals and diagrams. This role involves using hand tools, power wrenches, gauges, and other power tools to carry out tasks on the assembly line.
 Essential Functions of the Job: 
  • Assemble and install hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Secure parts and subassemblies with appropriate fasteners (bolts, screws, clips, etc.) using torque wrenches and other tools.
  • Position and attach major components such as engine blocks and fan housings to the chassis using hoists and alignment tools.
  • Operate equipment such as drills, riveting machines, and hydraulic crimpers to support assembly tasks.
  • Identify, organize, and distribute parts to designated assembly areas; record work orders and inventory transactions accurately.
  • Perform functional tests on completed assemblies and operate forklifts or hoists as needed to support production flow.
  • Other duties as assigned.  
     
 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s): 
  • Ability to operate forklift and parts picker lift safely.
  • General computer skills -- data entry experience.
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
 Education and Experience: 
  • High School diploma or GED certificated preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Prefer 1 – 8 years of mechanical assembly experience
 Working Conditions: 
  • Use hands or fingers to handle or feel
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Good Hearing
  • Lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Stand, walk on a concrete surface
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Climb up to 4 feet
  • Lift, pull and push 51 to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
    Work near moving mechanical parts
  • Work around fumes or airborne particles
  • Work with toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Work is performed in a loud manufacturing environment
