Material Handler Job Description Job Title: Material Handler SUMMARY:Provides material to molding machines so machines don’t run out of material during a production run. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:At shift changeover perform a walk-around with the previous shift to visually check all machines to ensure that everything is ready for the next shift.Use the production schedule to ensure the correct material and part number are on the dryer, grinder, and all material containers.Check all green cards to ensure they are completed correctly with part and material numbers.Keep material at the machines and in dryers.Keep grinders checked and emptied.Keep the area clean and take out trash as needed.Make rounds, visually checking each machine to fill dryers and empty grinders.Create a list of materials needed and give it to Warehouse personnel.Clean dryers, grinders, and loaders as needed.Assist in start-up / shut-down process.Assist in the shut-down process by removing all material, grinder, and dryer from the machine. Make pre-mixes for machines when material runs low.Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Be able to use our client's Data Base for part information and allocate and deallocate material.Be able to use material data to look up material premixes and locations of material.Be able to drive a tow motor. Be able to use the schedule for color changes.Must have the ability to work well with others and troubleshooting skills. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or G.E.D. A certificate is preferred but not always necessary. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the functions of the job.
