Job Description
Material Handler/General Maintenance Location: St. Clair, MI Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (Overtime as needed) Pay: Competitive hourly rate Job Summary: The Material Handler/General Maintenance role involves loading, unloading, and moving materials, ensuring accurate receipt and storage of incoming goods. This position also handles general plant maintenance and assists with shipping, packaging, and scrap management. Primary Responsibilities:
Receive and verify incoming raw materials
Load/unload materials using hand trucks, lift trucks, or manually
Operate band saws and hand tools for material prep
Perform plant maintenance, cleaning work areas, and maintaining oil systems
Handle scrap sorting, weighing, and disposal
Assist with grounds maintenance, snow removal, and plant security
Support shipping/receiving operations
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
6 months to 1 year of related experience
Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, etc.)
Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally, and 10-20 lbs. frequently
Comfortable working in various conditions (loud noise, weather exposure, etc.)
