Interviews are being conducted for immediate hire! Position OverviewThe Large Coil Assembly Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the large coil assembly area on 2nd shift. This leadership role ensures team members follow safety standards, P100 quality requirements, and efficient production workflows. The Lead will guide employees, provide training, address first-level concerns, and support a positive, team-driven culture while helping meet delivery goals and drive continuous improvement. Position: Large Coil Assembly LeadLocation: Richmond, VASchedule: 3:00 PM- 11:00 PM (2nd Shift) Compensation: $26.25/hr Essential Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including PPE usage, proper tool handling, and correct rigging/lifting techniques
Train and onboard new team members; reinforce standard work and safe coil assembly practices
Enforce P100 quality standards and assist operators with understanding and meeting quality expectations
Support operators in following daily production schedules and area standard work
Identify and resolve basic material, personnel, or production issues during shift; escalate when appropriate
Monitor adherence to policies as outlined in the employee handbook
Report safety, quality, production, and delivery concerns to the department supervisor
Promote a respectful, accountable, and collaborative team culture
Assist in identifying improvement opportunities and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Attend leadership and production meetings as required
Coordinate with other leads to ensure alignment across shifts and departments
Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with 5S standards
Flex to support other departments or responsibilities as business needs evolve
Qualifications
Proven track record of high performance and dependability
Ready to take on the "Awesome Responsibility of Leadership"
Willing to attend and engage in New Leader Training
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Basic understanding or willingness to learn large coil assembly processes
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and perform physically demanding tasks
Able to stand for long periods and bend/stoop frequently
Familiarity with tools, measuring devices, and safety procedures (training provided)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, routers, and special instructions (with training)
Basic math proficiency
Open to feedback, coachable, and focused on team success
Positive, can-do attitude even under pressure or changing conditions
Work Environment
Fast-paced manufacturing and shipping environment
Physical work includes lifting, bending, using tools, and standing for extended periods.
