Industrial Sewing Machine Operator Location: Owosso Pay: $16+ based on experience Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm, OT may be required.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! You MUST be able to pass a sewing test! Are you skilled with a sewing machine? Do you enjoy working with your hands and using machines to create high-quality products? Our client is seeking an EXPERIENCED sewing machine operator to join their growing team! Apply today and become part of a company that values craftsmanship and attention to detail. Duties:
Work from verbal and written instructions and production schedules to complete tasks.
Place cut fabric panels in racks for sewing.
Sew upholstery panels together, including welt cord application.
Create buttons for cushions.
Stuff cushion covers with polyester filling by hand or with a stuffing machine.
Sew the open ends of cushions after stuffing.
May sew decorative stitching through stuffed cushions.
Trim excess threads from finished cushions.
Operate heat seal machine and cut excess material from slings.
Inspect cushions for quality standards.
Use JDE system to determine next steps (Assembly or Boxing).
Track orders using dispatch screen.
Wrap and seal cushions in plastic.
Scan pick slips and label boxes.
Assemble tight seats by stapling fill and fabric to seat bases.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety rules.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
1+ years of related experience or equivalent training preferred
Ability to read basic instructions and match word/number patterns
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs with assistance
Must be comfortable standing for long periods and working with hands
