Purpose of role: The primary responsibility of a Maintenance Technician is to maintain and repair production machinery and support equipment in a timely manner in order to support production. Responsibilities:
Keep all mechanical components of equipment in clean and good working order. Repair and report all mechanical problems in CMMS database. Report ongoing or unresolved issues to the appropriate personnel
Plan sequence of operations and methods to use when making repairs and replacements following acceptable trade practices.
Remove, rebuild and replace major modules such as knives, cutting dies, conveyor belts, drive belts, gear boxes, shafts and bearings
Determine by regular inspection the repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns.
Assist in troubleshooting problem areas that impact quality, safety, waste, uptime, and production efficiency
Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment
Ensure that department equipment is maintained to meet applicable safety and housekeeping standards
Locate parts in inventory and keep accurate records of required transactions. Keep appropriate personnel informed in case of shortages. Recondition defective parts removed from machinery as required.
Work in a safe manner, observing rules and regulations directed to protect personnel and property from harm or damage
Show leadership to fellow employees when and as expected to control the working effort for projects, repairs, etc.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
3 or more years of Industrial or Manufacturing maintenance experience
Ability to work a 12-hour shift, which includes a combination of AM and PM hours, weekends, and holidays
