MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN 2nd/3rd ShiftSUMMARY:repair, develop, evaluate and improve upon manufacturing methods. The technician will be tasked with troubleshooting and performing repairs to hydraulic and electric machines, robots, and secondary equipment as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for repair and maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings and grounds.
Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Ability to understand how robot programing works and able to make needed adjustments.
Troubleshoot press and robot issues, in conjunction with Process Technicians as needed to assist. Maintain records in compliance with quality procedures and equipment operating logs and properly document activities.
Complete preventive maintenance and update PM logbooks.
Follow safety standards and procedures according to OSHA and ANSI regulations.
Complete repairs on hydraulic systems, HVAC, conveyors, and pneumatic circuits.
Troubleshoot electrical issues, expert in wiring/re-wiring.
Develop and manufacture poke-yoke/alarm systems, where applicable.
Troubleshoot and repair failed machinery and control systems.
Troubleshoot and repair issues with automated equipment including but not limited to: Sensors, Servo controls, Power supplies, VFD, I/O cards, Relays, HMI, load cells, etc.
Read and understand PLC ladder logic for troubleshooting and making minor program changes.
Identify maintenance concerns, issues, and work to assist with the resolution of issues.
Assist with new product launch.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED required; degree a plus.
3-5 years' experience in troubleshooting injection molding and secondary equipment required.
Experience with robotics, programmable controls, including the ability to troubleshoot and modify programs through the appropriate tools highly preferred.
Industrial electrical knowledge or experience is preferred.
Experience working on plant machinery, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC is a plus.
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings is desired.
Capability of EOAT Design and Fabrication plus.
Proficiency in valve gate design and installation plus.
Willing and able to be certified on forklift (sit down and standup) and scissor lift.
Must be willing to stay current with technology through continuous education.
