Our client in the Grand Rapids area is immediately hiring a Foundry Maintenance Technician for their first shift operations. Our client prides themselves on being one of the few steel companies in Michigan that are leading the way for energy efficiency. Employment Type: Direct Hire Location: Grand Rapids Compensation:$20-$30 per hour based on experience Shift:Mon-Fri 6am-2pm with a possibility of some Saturdays Qualifications:
Must be able to perform both building maintenance and equipment repair in an industrial setting
Demonstrated maintenance knowledge in electromagnetic induction for melting, heating and welding preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of working mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic parts
Basic welding knowledge
Basic electrical knowledge
knowledge of overhead crane systems
Familiar with maintenance tools such as, grinders, saws, and welders
Ability to read and interpret work orders
Multitasker with a safety focus mindset
Ability to lift up to 75lbs
Hi-lo experience a must
Bilingual a plus
Job Duties:
Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion
Estimate time and extent of repairs
Perform routine preventative maintenance on existing equipment
Maintain material stock and inventory
Oversee any outside contractors as necessary
Create work orders with outside vendors
Work with strict time management to decrease downtime
Troubleshooting and repairing furnace equipment
All other duties as assigned
