Are you mechanically inclined and used to working in a manufacturing environment? Our client, a global food manufacturer in Colonial Heights, is now hiring for Maintenance Technicians! Interviews are being conducted for immediate hire!
Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: Colonial Heights, VA Compensation: Starts at $21.86 - Based on Experience
Schedule: Monday – Saturday (Saturdays off based on production needs), 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Shift
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, perform maintenance duties including but not limited to repairing production equipment and systems.
JOB TASKS / FUNCTIONS:
Perform basic repair of production equipment
Lubricate equipment using hand and power tools
Collaborate and assist maintenance technicians on preventative maintenance tasks of equipment, buildings, and property.
Maintain property inventory levels
Inspect mechanical equipment to troubleshoot problems or concerns, disassembles machines and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts.
Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments
Participate in formal maintenance training programs
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic Understanding and knowledge of mechanics
Ability to use a computer and learn new operating systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor and work well independently and within a team environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
HS Diploma, GED or equivalent
Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or other related fields
Strong Mechanical troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk and reach above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
WORK ENVIROMENT:
Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd, and/or 3rd shifts.
Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit
