Compensation: Based on ExperienceSchedule: Monday – Saturday (Saturdays off based on production needs), 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shifts  POSITION SUMMARY: Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.  JOB TASKS / FUNCTIONS
HVAC / Refrigeration
May perform duties of Maintenance Technician (General) and/or not limited to: 
  • Evaluate and performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems Review and approval of batch records, product files, quality control data, and Certificates of Analysis for the purposes of product release; reviews job orders and quality check sheets
  • Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety
    guidelines Provides assistance to manufacturing personnel regarding quality problems.
  • Maintains and secures a spare parts inventory including basic maintenance hand and power tools
  • Performs operation, repair and adjustment of refrigeration system; monitors system performance and determines when system is not operating correctly
  • Performs routine maintenance on various types of warehouse equipment in accordance with OSHA Standards.
  • Starts system, observes operation, reads gauges and instruments, and adjusts mechanisms, such as valves, controls, and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature in system
  • Dismantles malfunctioning systems and tests components, using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment
  • Replaces or adjusts defective or worn parts to repair system
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Electrician
May perform duties of Maintenance Technician (General) and/or not limited to: 
  • Installs, connects, tests, and sustains electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security, and communications.
  • Figures layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, using tools, such as hacksaw, pipe threader, and conduit bender.
  • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, using knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Other duties as assigned

 Wastewater:
May perform duties of Maintenance Technician (General) and/or not limited to: 
  • Skilled repair and maintenance of wastewater pre-treatment plant equipment and machinery.
  • Installs, repairs and maintains or rebuilds equipment and machinery relative to the physical plant and its processes including but not limited to air compressors, pumps, motors, variable frequency drives
  • Other duties as assigned
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Skilled repair and maintenance of wastewater pre-treatment plant equipment and machinery.
  • Three (3) months of maintenance experience
  • Knowledgeable of and can perform all set-ups and tear downs of all equipment in area
  • Have and demonstrate trouble-shooting skill
  • Must possess organization skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or other related field
  • Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or other related field
  • Two (2) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish reading, writing & speaking
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk and reach above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
 WORK ENVIRONMENT: 
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts
  • Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit
