MAINTENANCE/REPAIR (Building and Machinery) - DIRECT HIRE

1st shift (5:00 AM - 3:00 PM) or 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 1:00 AM) Openings Available

Looking for experienced MAINTENANCE/REPAIR associate for premier fastener company in Auburn Hills. This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity working with a leader in threaded bolts and screws for the automotive, heavy truck and industrial industries. Great opportunity to grow along with the organization. Job Description: Under the direction of the Plant Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor, responsibility for completion of equipment and building maintenance.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for building and machinery maintenance activities.
  2. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  3. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
  4. Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  5. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly.
  6. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  7. Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  8. Record maintenance and repair work performed and the costs of the work.
  9. Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  10. Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  11. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.

Required Skills:
  1. Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
  2. Ability to coordinate outside services (parts, rigging and repair)
  3. High school diploma or GED
  4. Ability to perform some or all of the above noted Duties & Responsibilities
