Our client has partnered with QPT to identify an experienced Maintenance Manager with strong plastic injection molding expertise. This leadership role is hands-on, working alongside technicians to manage complex repairs and preventative maintenance for hydraulic and electric molding equipment. Strong troubleshooting ability and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision are key to success in this role. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all maintenance operations across plant equipment, buildings and grounds with an emphasis on cost-effectiveness and efficiency
Lead and support the Maintenance Department team in daily repair activities and best-practice procedures
Develop, implement and manage a robust preventative maintenance program for molding machines, compressors, chillers, thermolators, welders and related systems
Maintain accurate documentation on all maintenance activities, including emergency and preventive/predictive repairs
Manage and optimize the work order system to ensure timely repairs and compliance with safety procedures
Maintain plant equipment to reach or exceed 90 percent utilization
Build and manage a critical spare parts inventory to minimize downtime
Prioritize maintenance tasks in alignment with customer production demands and safety requirements
Plan and coordinate the department’s workflow to maximize equipment uptime and repair efficiency
Required Qualifications:
Degree in engineering is preferred but not required
Recent experience in a supervisory maintenance role within a plastics or manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, electrical systems, hydraulics, air compressors and dryers
PLC experience and working knowledge of Ladder Logic
Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics and mechanical blueprints
Solid understanding of mechanical repair, machine shop tools and National Electric Code standards
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards relevant to equipment and power systems
Comfortable working in confined spaces and elevated environments
Strong communication skills and ability to foster a respectful, team-oriented environment
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required
