Job Description


Job Summary:

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing machinery to ensure efficient and safe production processes. The operator ensures that machines are set up correctly, run efficiently, and produce high-quality products according to the specified standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Machine Setup and Operation:
    • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
    • Operate machinery following established procedures and safety guidelines.
    • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed) to optimize production quality and efficiency.

  2. Quality Control:
    • Inspect parts with precision measuring tools to ensure conformity to specifications.
    • Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running.
    • Remove and replace defective parts or machines as necessary.

  3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
    • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure their proper functioning.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery to minimize downtime.
    • Report any malfunctions or abnormalities to the supervisor for further investigation.

  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
    • Ensure a clean and safe working environment by performing regular housekeeping duties.
    • Comply with all company policies, legal guidelines, and health and safety regulations.

  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Keep detailed records of machine operations and maintenance activities.
    • Complete production logs and reports accurately and timely.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status and issues.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a machine operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of production procedures and safety standards.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
    • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
    • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
    • Physical stamina and strength to handle machinery and heavy materials.

Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Exposure to loud noise, chemicals, and machinery.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Capability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
