Apply now to learn more and schedule an interview! Job Title: Laser Machine Operator Location: Richmond, VA, 23231Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm, with potential for overtime based on production needsCompensation: $20-22/hour Job Summary:Under immediate to moderate supervision, the Machine Operator operates fabricating machines such as press brakes, laser cutters, and other machinery as required that cut, shape and bend metal plates for the production of an array of our client’s products. Essential Functions:
  • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. 
  • Positions stops or guides to specified length as indicated by blueprints, scale, rule or template.
  • Maintains fabricating equipment and makes adjustments to prepare equipment for safe and efficient operation. 
  • Moves parts and/or pieces manually, by hoist or forklift and secures parts using clamps, braces, etc. prior to machine operation. 
  • Maintains production quantities, efficiencies, and quality of parts fabricated. 
  • Positive, team-based attitude and a willingness to cross train on machinery in the fabrication department. 
  • Ability to adhere to company safety expectations and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able to use and read a tape measure, protractor and various other measuring tools using both American and metric measurements and quantities.
  • Ability to handle large, awkward parts weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted; additional weight assisted.
  • Ability to operate a forklift. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
 Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years of previous experience operating heavy production/fabrication machinery (years of service will vary depending upon level of position).
  • Experience with JD Edwards preferred
