Shift: 3rd shift . Sunday - Thursday 10pm - 6am. To qualify for this position, must have cardboard machine printing experience!
Pay: Starting wage is $27 - $29/hour with bi-yearly raises for the first two years of employment and yearly raises thereafter
Bonus Structure: Generous tiered Bonus structure
Job Duties:
Troubleshoot and assist feeder operator
Issue job stack
Prepare loads
Assist with hanging plates, mixing ink, keeping ink supplied in fountains, and replacing blankets
Train crew to operate presses, watch for imperfections, smashed blankets, scratches, and keeping the overall work area/press clean and safe for others
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Follow instructions given by supervisor
Work with minimum amount of supervision and perform duties assigned to the position
Maintain production standards. Must maintain familiarity with all aspects of the necessary procedures in the Quality Control Program
Must be able to register, achieve color standards, and troubleshoot press problems
Understand how the other departments interact
Order inks and other printing supplies
Must have knowledge of printing supplies
Organization of press crews and floor procedures for scheduling presses
Troubleshooting ability for press related problems
Scheduling with print department supervisor
Communicate with other departments
Prior to the start of production, a factory ticket is received by the lead pressman. It is the responsibility of the lead pressman to verify all of the information that is listed on the factory ticket. Verify load tickets, sheet size, substrate, and caliper. Lead pressman is responsible for proper ink colors to be used and the proper sequence in which the plates are to be hung on the press. Prior to the production run, copy and color oks must be made which is done by the print department supervisor.
