Job Description

SUPPLY CHAIN / MATERIALS MANAGER JOB SUMMARYDirect and oversee procurement and materials operations to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components, superior quality, competitive pricing, and uninterrupted production support. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for purchasing, MRO, VMI, capital requests, and materials management.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate Materials Buyers; establish goals and measure performance.
  • Plan and direct systems to meet or exceed production and customer requirements.
  • Review and approve requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, and claims for policy compliance.
  • Analyze market conditions, material availability, and cost trends; prepare market analyses to support sourcing decisions.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies, including supplier selection, RFQs/RFPs, negotiations, and contract management to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms; drive supplier performance improvements in quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Conduct vendor audits and manage approved supplier qualifications.
  • Manage inventory to optimize availability and minimize excess/obsolete stock, including cycle counts, E&O review, and inventory turn improvement.
  • Oversee and improve ERP/IQMS systems to ensure accurate purchasing data, inventory integrity, and material flow.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through value analysis, alternate sourcing, and strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure contract and production requirements are met.
  • Manage surplus material disposition.
  • Support General Manager and leadership team in achieving company objectives.
 REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (3–5+ years related experience).
  • 3+ years supervisory experience.
  • Automotive experience with OEM systems knowledge.
  • Strong background in plastic materials and processing.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Inventory management and logistics experience preferred.
  • Injection mold design knowledge preferred.

  • Ability to interpret business, technical, and regulatory documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, including mathematical and statistical application.
  • Ability to manage complex variables and interpret written, oral, and diagram-based instructions.
