Job Description

Manufacturing IT Service Support Specialist
Location:  – Auburn Hills, MI
  • 6-month contract assignment
  • Potential for hire after contract completion (not guaranteed)
  • $22.00-$28.00
The IT Service Support Specialist provides frontline support for the IT department by triaging and assigning helpdesk tickets, coordinating security and compliance tasks, and managing key operational processes. This role ensures efficient IT operations by balancing administrative accuracy with technical problem-solving, enabling the IT team to focus on complex issues and strategic projects
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesHelpdesk Support & Ticket Management
  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support tickets.
  • Review, categorize, and assign tickets based on issue type, urgency, and location.
  • Provide Tier 1 support during peak workload periods, vacations, or breaks.
  • Monitor ticket queues to ensure timely resolution and compliance with service standards.
Security & Compliance
  • Manage IT-related onboarding and offboarding processes, including access control.
  • Support IT security training programs and phishing campaigns; document and report outcomes.
  • Prepare and distribute IT security and compliance reports.
  • Handle sensitive IT data (user access, billing records, security communications) with discretion.
Operational Coordination
  • Schedule IT team meetings, vendor discussions, and project reviews.
  • Coordinate IT purchasing, licensing, and invoicing activities, ensuring accuracy and budget tracking.
  • Maintain IT documentation, including policies, procedures, and system references.
  • Act as a liaison between IT leadership, vendors, and internal departments.
Project & Team Support
  • Assist with IT projects, including communications, documentation, and user-facing materials.
  • Provide organizational support for IT initiatives (scheduling, reporting, status updates).
  • Prepare presentations, status reports, and performance metrics for IT leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and recommend process improvements.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of IT helpdesk, service desk, or technical support experience.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to triage IT issues effectively.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
Certificates / Licenses
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
Team SkillsThis role requires strong collaboration, cooperation, timely task completion, and respect for team members.Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in helpdesk/ticketing software and IT service management practices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and cloud-based collaboration tools.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
