Want to grow your career in HR? Do you have experience with data entry and payroll? Our client, a global food manufacturer in Colonial Heights, is now hiring a HR Assistant!  Position: HR - Administrator Talent & CultureLocation: Colonial Heights, VA
Compensation: Starting at $20/HR – Based on experienceSchedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm POSITION SUMMARY: Provide administrative support for the assigned Talent & Culture Department JOB TASKS / FUNCTIONS: 
  • Prepare and maintain employment records related to events such as terminations, leaves, transfers, or promotions
  • Coordinate FMLA and employee leaves including but not limited to, distribution, maintaining and tracking all FMLA leaves and related records
  • Process qualifying event benefit changes in SAP
  • Follow up and maintain new employee benefit enrollment and dependent documentation
  • Conduct exit interviews and off-boarding
  • Complete reports for Verification of Employment and I-9’s
  • Respond and process unemployment claims
  • Coordinate employee benefits meetings, including but not limited to, annual Open Enrollment meetings, 401 (k) meetings, wellness meetings and Health Fair
  • Administer employee Recognition Program and Service Awards
  • Administer attendance warnings for all hourly employees
  • Coordinate, schedule and track training participation 
  • Other duties as assigned
 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • High School disploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of administrative experience
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, with time sensitive and changing deadlines, without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Customer Service skills including the ability to manage and respond to different customer situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude
 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Two (2) years of Human Resources experience
  • SAP HR systems experience
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, writing & speaking
 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The duties of this position are typically performed in an office setting. The majority of duties are performed while sitting at a desk and requires spending extended hours in front of a computer screen. Communication typically occurs through face-to-face interaction, as well as via email, telephone, and written correspondence. This job position also requires the ability to use other office equipment, such as a copier, scanner, fax machine, etc. WORK ENVIRONMENT: 
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time.
  • Majority of work will be performed in plant, laboratory, or office environment including areas of hot/cold temperatures, loud noise.
