FIXTURE BUILDER - 1st Shift 
Do you enjoy being an essential part of a manufacturing system?  This could be the job for you!  Fixture Builder needed for a metal fabrication facility in Lapeer. This position works with a variety of materials including aluminum, carbon steel, aluminized steel, and stainless steel to form a variety of tubing for the auto industry.  Responsibilities include building tools or fixtures to facilitate improved efficiency and quality of end-products products.  Work with drawings to determine how to build fixture according to specifications.  Opportunity to advance for those who are interested.  Work schedule is 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday with some occasional overtime.  Starting pay is $15.00 per hour.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following:
  1. Builds fixtures and other various tools for manufacturing to enabling those areas to do their work more efficiently, with improved quality and repeatability.
  2. May work on designing fixtures as required.
  3. Orders materials and components required to build fixtures.
  4. Machines various parts and/or welds fixtures together.
  5. Utilizes material handling equipment to build and move fixtures.
  6. Works with manufacturing on tool adjustments, repair, or modification.
  7. Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
  1. Required high school diploe or GED.
 Required Skills:
  1. Ability to read ruler.
  2. Ability to use caliper and hand tools. 
  3. Knowledge of blueprint interpretation.
  4. Must have mathematical and welding skills.
  5. Knowledge of manufacturing systems
  6. Effective oral and written communications are essential, as are interpersonal skills.
  7. The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  8. The ability to work on a wide variety of projects with frequent, established deadlines.
  9. Must be willing to get hands dirty with tool construction and troubleshooting.
  10. Must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  11. Have an ability to work through complex challenges and requirements, utilizing problem-solving skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Good verbal and written comprehension.
  2. Must thrive in a team environment.
  3. Self-motivated but able to take directions.
  4. Attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
Physical Demands: 
  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to climb, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
  2. Must occasionally lift up to fifty pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
