Fabrication Technician Location: Richmond, VAPay: Competitive, Starting at $22-24/hourSchedule: Full-time | Day Shift Our client is seeking a Fabrication Technician to join their Custom Solutions team. This role is essential in building high-quality, custom fluid system assemblies that meet precise customer specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, skilled with tools, and thrives in an environment where quality, craftsmanship, and accuracy matter. Key ResponsibilitiesFabrication & Assembly
Assemble fluid systems using components such as tubing, fittings, valves, regulators, and manifolds.
Perform tube cutting, bending, and other fabrication steps to exact specifications.
Operate and maintain specialized equipment including orbital welders, tube benders, and pressure-testing systems.
Assemble products according to technical drawings, work instructions, and quality guidelines.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Conduct functional tests—pressure testing, leak checks, and performance validation.
Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, safety, and quality compliance.
Identify and correct fabrication issues to maintain high manufacturing standards.
Maintenance & Organization
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and safety procedures.
Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure consistent performance.
Documentation & Reporting
Accurately document fabrication steps, materials used, and test results.
Communicate progress, challenges, and improvement opportunities with supervisors and team members.
Collaboration & Training
Work closely with the Custom Solutions Manager, engineers, and teammates to align with customer requirements.
Assist in training new team members on fabrication techniques, safety, and quality processes.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
2+ years of manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
Proficiency with hand tools, measuring tools, and precision equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift/move 5–25 lbs occasionally.
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, or stooping.
Occasional climbing or balancing.
Must be able to pass a visual acuity exam.
