EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (DIRECT HIRE)
Do you have experience operating heavy equipment/machinery and performing tasks necessary for hardscape projects? We have a great job opportunity for you! This is a DIRECT HIRE position with our client in Flint. Come join a team where you can grow and succeed. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday anytime from 6:00am to 6:00pm (40-50 hours per week) during peak season. Saturday hours as needed. Hours may be reduced in winter based on needs. Overtime may be required as workload dictates. Wage is $18.00 to $25.00 per hour based on experience.

- Operate equipment including Skid steer, Front-end loaders, Track loader, Bulldozer, Excavator, etc.
- Transport tools/equipment to and from sites. Loading and unloading tools/equipment
- Inspect and fuel vehicle prior to beginning shift.
- Perform routine repairs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned/needed
- Ensuring equipment is maintained and used in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and performing regular safety checks on equipment.
- Ensuring equipment is properly positioned before turning it on/off, loading/unloading, and is safely turned off and stored.
- Ensuring sites are kept clean and safe.
- Attending meetings and refresher courses to ensure responsible equipment operation.
- Identifying faults and troubleshooting equipment as required. Promptly reporting all faults to the Supervisor or Foreman.
- Consistently follow health and safety regulations.
- Training new crew members in the safe operation of equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience operating equipment.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow orders, especially under pressure.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines.
- A sound understanding of health and safety codes.
- A positive outlook
- Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
- Ability to read building plans, blueprints, and land grades.
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Great hand and foot coordination and always be thinking of ways to improve efficiency.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
- Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
- Work is primarily outdoors during all seasons.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including inclement weather (rain, snow, heat or cold).
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection is required for duties such as equipment operation that expose the individual to elevated noise levels.
