Job Description

EHS Supervisor GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  1. Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, keeping abreast of any changes to laws and regulations which impact the organization 
  2. Develop, update and manage workplace safety policies, procedures, and programs 
  3. Conduct audits and inspections to insure compliance with occupational health, safety and environmental regulations as well as internal policies/procedures 
  4. Effectively communicate information to personnel at all levels of the organization 
  5. Develop and implement employee safety training programs 
  6. Conduct required safety and environmental related training 
  7. Lead the facility’s joint health & safety team 
  8. Participate in Lean program activities 
  9. Review all safety incidents to determine root cause and corrective action(s) 
  10. Maintain visibility within the manufacturing facility, providing individual interaction as need 
  11. Promote a proactive, facility wide safety culture 
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned or required 
 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  1. Strong understanding of environmental regulations, as well as industrial health and safety 
  2. Knowledge of General Industry regulations (OSHA, MIOSHA, ANSII, NIOSH, EPA, etc.) 
  3. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills 
  4. Ability to work independently, accepting responsibility for facility environmental and health & safety initiatives 
  5. Mechanical aptitude extremely beneficial 
  6. Excellent judgment and decision-making ability 
  7. Computer experience required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access). 
  8. Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading environmental, health, and safety functions within a manufacturing environment 
  9. Experience working with unionized workforce preferred 
 EDUCATION:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field with an Environmental, Health & Safety focus strongly preferred 
  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. This position will have one direct report.

  1. Maintenance of the job descriptions for the salary and hourly team members. 
  2. Coordination of training for salary team members.  Assist in supporting training for Hourly team members.
