DIE SETTER TRAINEE (STAMPING PRESS) - 1st Shift
Are you an experienced Die Setter or want to learn the process? Our client is looking for a Die Setter to work in their Imlay City facility. Daily work activities can be taught on the job for those individuals looking for an entry level position. This is a family owned and operated metal stamping business established in 1987 with over 80 employees. Enjoy a family atmosphere, stability, and opportunity to grow and advance. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with some Saturday overtime. Pay is $15.00 per hour.
POSITION SCOPE:Stamping Press Die Setters lead the production of quality parts in a timely and productive manner, while understanding the root cause of part or tool malfunction. You will set up and operate progressive presses between 80 ton to 600 ton. It is essential to relay quality and production issues to your Quality inspector and or Production Manager, while working to maintain a clean work area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up tools, feeders, coilers, and coil straighteners.
- Inspect and record part dimensions per quality plan and customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot causes when parts do not conform to customer specifications.
- Operate presses while holding the same quality standard when needed.
- Good communication skills, multitasking skills and careful attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of calipers, micrometer, protractor, height gauge, gauge pins and drop through gauges.
- Read, write and speak English fluently in order to derive and communicate information from manufacturing documents
- Work Monday-Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (first shift) and 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm (2nd shift) and overtime as required.
- Stand/sit or walk for up to 10 hours per day.
- Regularly lift and twist your torso while handling packages of up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally lift up to 90 pounds. (any lifting over 50lbs will require a 2 man lift and or lifting aids are available.)
- Acquire and maintain a forklift license and operate a forklift in a safe, productive manner.
