Job Description
Do you enjoy hands-on building and working with tools? We’re hiring a Crating Lead to support shipping and production operations. If you have carpentry skills or enjoy working with your hands, this is the opportunity for you! Interviews are being conducted for immediate hire! As the 2nd Shift Crating Lead, you'll ensure smooth crate assembly operations by enforcing safety, quality, and productivity standards. You’ll mentor and train team members, resolve daily issues, and help champion a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Position: Crating & Packaging LeadLocation: Richmond, VASchedule: 3:00 PM- 11:00 PM (2nd Shift) Compensation: $26.25/hr Key Responsibilities
Ensure all team members comply with company policies: PPE use, tool safety
Train new and existing employees on assembly procedures and P100 quality standards
Guide operators in following standard work to meet daily production targets
Actively resolve shift-level issues related to materials, equipment, or personnel—and escalate when necessary
Report safety, quality, production, or delivery concerns to your supervisor
Maintain 5S cleanliness and organization in your area
Foster a positive, respectful team environment
Support continuous improvement initiatives—identify and implement efficiency enhancements
Collaborate with other shift leads and departments
Attend leadership and production meetings
Assist in other areas as business needs evolve
Qualifications
Proven track record as a reliable, high-performing employee
Attend New Leader Training classes
Natural leadership attitude and readiness to take on responsibility
Strong communicator, able to coach, develop, and hold team members accountable
Familiarity with crating and/or manufacturing processes preferred
Physical capability: lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and bend/stoop frequently
Comfortable using hand and power tools and measuring tools per blueprint drawings and routers
Open to constructive feedback with a growth mindset
Positive and resilient attitude
Work Environment
Fast-paced manufacturing and shipping environment
