Job Description
Qualified Staffing is searching for 1st Shift Crate & Shipping Tech for a manufacturer in Lawrenceville GA! Schedule: Mon-Thurs 6am-4:30pmPayrate: $20-$24/hr This is a temporary day shift position that will last around 2 to 6+ months. RESPONSIBILITIES
Construct and customize pallets and crates for heavy-duty and uniquely shaped machinery.
Apply knowledge of wood treatment codes (e.g., ISPM-15) and pest control regulations for international shipments.
Evaluate and interpret drawings to determine appropriate crate dimensions, materials, and reinforcements.
Safely operate hand and power tools to cut, assemble, and secure crates and pallets.
Coordinate freight arrangements with carriers for domestic and international shipments, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy, weight distribution, and safe transport conditions.
Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, and position crates.
Document and track shipping details, including schedules, carrier information, and freight costs.
Maintain organization of the stockroom and warehouse, ensuring products, crates, and materials are stored properly.
Record inventory transactions for incoming and outgoing shipments, updating logs and records as needed.
Prepare shipping reports for managers, detailing goods shipped and received on a regular basis.
Identify and resolve issues related to shipping, receiving, or inventory control.
REQUIREMENTS
3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or packaging—particularly with heavy industrial equipment.
Demonstrated skill in crate and pallet construction, including knowledge of wood treatment codes for international shipping (e.g., ISPM-15).
Ability to read and interpret drawings and shipping documentation.
High School Diploma or GED required; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
