We are working with a manufacturer in the area to fill a Direct Hire Cost Accountant position.
Summary
The Cost Accountant position will maintain the bill-of-materials and costing. Serve as the key position in the implementation of the annual cost roll. This person will also assist with monthly inventory reconciliations, the month-end close process, and several critical functions and analyses involving inventory accounting.

Major Function and Scope
1. Managing Financials– Responsible for the accuracy of all plant financials including production volume, conversion costs, material usage variance, and standard costs. A clear understanding of inventory and the controls process are key.
2. Reporting & Analysis– Provides accurate, actionable, and timely financial reporting, variance analysis, and commentary that leads to an understanding of the business enabling improved decision making and identification of opportunities.
3. Planning– Partner with the Manufacturing Team on the development of periodic forecasts based on fact or sound judgment. Drive to achieve business objectives.
4. Capital Management– Supports capital investment requests by providing accurate financial analysis that meets profitability goals.
5. Projects– Identifies areas of opportunity in the business associated with continuous improvement in areas of financial performance, business acumen, processes, standard work, systems, and other areas.
Knowledge, Experience, and Competencies
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
2. Cost Accounting
3. Minimum 5-year experience
4. Strong organization, time-management, and communication skills.
5. Strong PC and analytical skills. (Pivot tables in Excel.)
6. Detail-oriented.
7. Ability to work independently.

Organization Alignment
The Cost Accountant will directly report to the Finance Manager.
