Job Description
CONTROLS DESIGN ENGINEER
DIRECT HIRE75-85K
As a Controls Hardware Designer, you will be a part of a team that is responsible for industrial controls systems design and developing components such as circuits, lay outs, and bill of materials.
Responsibilities
- PLC and or Servo system design with any of the following hardware systems: Bosch Rexroth, Rockwell, Modicon, GE Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, etc.
- Panel design and layout
- Bill of materials
- Wiring schematic capabilities (Servo, Safety E-Stop, Lights Screens, PLC)
- Work with minimal supervision and perform all required normal engineering calculations associated with hardware design using AutoCAD
- Implement standard engineering practices, and provide detailed documentation upon project completion
- Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy to understand manne
- Foster a positive team environment by assisting co-workers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- MV/HV Engineer
- Knowledge of NEC and UL508A Standards is required (Build Practices and Component Selection)
- Switch gear
- Cable assembly design (experience is a plus)
- Ability to use AutoCAD (E-Plan experience is a plus)
- Electrical power distribution systems
- Transformer testing – TTR, winding resistance, insulation resistance, SFR
- High/medium/low voltage system
- Solid state power conversion
- Power transformers
- Arc-flash calculations and protection
- NESC, NFPA, NEMA, ANSI, UL, IEEE standards
- Power system analysis
- Circuit design and component selection
Education
Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Hardware Design
Experience
- Background in Hardware Design
- Minimum of 3 years
- Experience in automotive, food processing, HVAC, aerospace, or water/wastewater industries a plus
